Reseller Soft Quota
Overview
Many Ahsay businesses choose to allow their larger resellers greater freedom in account management. A common sales model is for a reseller to be allocated a block of storage, to create accounts within as they will. MyClient supports tracking the reseller's aggregate use to monitor and enforce these limits with a Soft Quota system, that does not prevent the end customer from backing up.
Setting up Reseller Soft Quotas
You can set the shared quota limit for a reseller on the Manage System Users page. You can choose a quota limit based on either compressed data usage, uncompressed data usage, or total quota allocated. You may then browse resellers and see at a glance how close resellers are to their assigned limits.
Configuring reseller soft quota
When the reseller logs in to your MyClient installation, they will see a summary of their total quota usage on the right-hand side of their homepage.
Restrictions for resellers exceeding limits
By default, there is no consequence for a reseller to exceed their soft limit.
For resellers who are exceeding their combined use, you may choose to prevent them creating new backup accounts. This option is available from the Manage System Behaviour page > System Users tab.
For resellers who have a soft quota based on quota allocation, you may choose to prevent them from exceeding this allocation when creating accounts or changing account quotas. This option is available from the Manage System Behaviour page > System Users tab.
