Branding AhsayOBM/AhsayACB software

Overview

As an Ahsay partner, you have several methods available to brand the AhsayOBM/AhsayACB client software agents.

Fully-branded

Fully-branded by ACP

The obvious first method is to use the Ahsay Customisation Portal to build a modified AhsayOBM/AhsayACB client. You can then host these downloads and add the URLs to MyClient. Then when a customer or reseller downloads their software from MyClient, they will receive the branded version.

This method is reliable, but has some disadvantages:

• The Ahsay Customisation Portal is complex to use, periodically unavailable, and very slow to build clients.
• It is easy to overlook a setting and accidentally produce an improperly branded client, requiring repeated slow regenerations.
• If you have more than a few resellers, it takes a significant amount of time to manage upgrading clients.
• It is prohibitively difficult to use the AUA system if customers have differently-branded software agents.

As a result, many partners who use this system avoid upgrading the client software at all, leading to bugs and lower quality of service for customers.

Fully-branded by Autoclients

MyClient supports taking an unbranded AhsayOBM/AhsayACB client, and wrapping it with a reseller's branding. This has the advantage of being trivial to keep up to date, and addresses many of the issues with the ACP approach above. Downloads are generated instantly at the time of request, using up-to-date branding and up-to-date software versions.

Co-branded

Co-branded by Adgroups

The AhsayOBM/AhsayACB software agent can display a banner image and text inside the main interface. This provides a co-branded backup agent, where the customer might install the primary-branded software agent, but see information inside the software agent about contacting their reseller for first-tier support.

The AdGroup can be remotely set via the AhsayOBS web console, and MyClient supports setting the AdGroup for new and existing customers. However, once you have multiple AhsayOBS servers, it is prohibitively difficult to maintain AdGroups across all your AhsayOBS servers, and keep them synchronised and up-to-date whenever a reseller's logo or branding changes.

Co-branded by Adgroups, with MyClient Bannersync

MyClient has exclusive support for centralised management of AdGroups, automatically creating AdGroups on AhsayOBS servers and keeping them up-to-date. This addresses a number of issues with using the AdGroup feature directly.
